The F-35A made its first appearance in Canada at the Abbotsford Airshow on the weekend. On Monday the two F-35As flew back to Hill AFB in Utah.

The F-35As did not fly as part of the airshow. The U.S. military has F-35s which do the airshow circuit but those were booked. Instead the U.S. government sent up the aircraft from Hill AFB, Utah. Security was tight – spectators were required to stay behind a rope, which kept them about seven metres from the aircraft. An armed guard was also nearby.
